Psychiatric Medication Management
Medication is often an essential part of psychiatric treatment as it can help to relieve your symptoms and restore your quality of life. At CVP, our providers will work with you to create a medication treatment plan that is right for you. In many ways, the human brain is still a mystery, and our unique genetic make-up means we respond differently to medications. CVP is committed to staying current on best practices to treat mental health issues. We offer regular check-ups to assess your symptoms and the benefits or side effects of the medication. Our close work together promotes safety with medication treatment and improves outcomes.

ADHD/ADD
Inattention and inability to focus do not necessarily mean that you have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The best way to determine if you have ADHD/ADD or not is to have yourself diagnosed properly. While lots of the patients are children, it also affects adults. ADHD/ADD is characterized by patterns of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity that often affect the patient's daily life. Our providers assess symptoms from multiple perspectives. This is done through a clinical interview, history review and measuring symptoms through self and other perspectives. We offer clinical testing, screening and assessment of patients and recommend appropriate treatment options

Adult Autism Testing and Diagnosis
Testing for adults and children 10 and up for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be performed and require more than 1 visit. Note: Although we are able to diagnose children 10 and up with ASD, schools often require a separate psychologist evaluation to qualify for Individual Education Plans (IEP's) related to ASD. For parents who wish to pursue this option, we can provide a list of psychologists in the area who are able to perform this service.

Genetic Testing
At CVP, we utilize a test called GeneSight Psychotropic. We make use of the results to understand how a client may break down or respond to certain medications. This helps us determine which medications will be most effective for our patients and allows us to avoid multiple medication trials.

Substance Use Treatment
At CVP, we lay the groundwork for lasting change. However, sometimes it takes more than talk therapy to initiate that transformation. Medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, combines pharmacological support with counseling to help individuals struggling with a substance use disorder. Medical support also ensures that potential withdrawal symptoms don’t present physical dangers. During this specific treatment, patients are required to attend Substance Abuse counseling.
